In the depths of depression
I was lost in darkness
Struggling to find light
When I found my light
It was blinding
It led the way...
My light allowed me
To find things out
Things I never knew about myself
So did my depression
My sadness let me find my gift
My talent with words
Now that I am back on my feet
There is not a soul
That will allow me to fall again
My friends...
There, usually when I need them
They help when they can
And of course my dad
Who will never
Let me fail
Even total strangers
Give me advice and guidance
Simply based on my writing
Now I live my life
Full of light
So different from the darkness
All I needed
Was something to get me back up
I only needed a lift
