I remember summer
Dark and quiet
Fireflies drifted through the yard
The air was heavy and warm
Making my legs stick
To the wood of the deck
I remember Christmas lights
Which were never packed away
Strung along the railing
Illuminating our faces
I remember music
Sad and sweet
Your fingers grazing guitar strings
Finding note after note
An ambrosial melody
I remember you
Mismatched eyes
And a crooked smile
To mimic your way of thinking
A strong jawline, long eyelashes
And a gentle disposition
I remember your steady hands
Which created works of art
Masterpiece after masterpiece
They created me
Now you're just a memory
Like that summer night
Slipping from my thoughts
One detail at a time
And each masterpiece will break
Or wear away
And I wonder
If I'll vanish too

I'm so sorry for your loss. My heart so much felt ur pain for I lost a dear and close friend of mine a few days ago although the circumstances were different. Even though they are gone I believe we keep them alive inside our hearts with the beautiful memories they left us with. A sad, heart breaking write. Thanks for sharing it~
