a prayer to love

Contributed by seci on Wednesday, 12th July 2006 @ 09:46:28 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

i lay myself down next to you
feeling your heart beat next to mine
a blessing to feel your love wrapped here around my heart
a room so cold but a love so strong and warm that should never keep us apart
season by season i plan on still loving you
one hundred years from now we will lay side by side with our souls resting as one together
something so strong that only Angels will bow by us in heaven
i vow to stand by your side throught your sickness and death
never will i escape when you are in your worse shape through health
there shall be no other that will sweep me clean off my feet
being because when i am near you my heart always skips that beat
like that root holding up that tree so strong
i will hold on to you the same way even through the worst storms
i will be that lighthouse to like your way down in the dark
i will be that sweet music playing in your ears as if i am a harp
as the sun rise i promise you will wake up looking into my eyes
as the sun goes down
i'm still here as always with my love being your surprise
i don't need any gifts from you to hold me
you are my gift in all reality
i will love you in and out of time
i will love you when time want exist anymore nothing but these torn down houses that were built and these old ragged doors
bowing on both knees i bless your soul and all the love you have gaven me
we have loved through history
until my soul meets your soul above
i promise to you this prayer to still as one
love
Amen

i didn't write it up top because i had forgot but i wrote this poem deeply from my soul heart and mind. sometimes i believe we all forget about what real love is. when you sit down and listen to someone who has been married over 40 years how they explain what love is, it is so different from what we young people think it is. we believe love is sex. we believe sex is the only thing that can hold a guy or female but not really. it took me just one conversation from a old beautiful lady to tell me what love is. it is a tune rfrom the birds singing in the morning she said with a smile. i think her for giving me inspiration to write this.
