Could it be that
we loved once upon a time?
That our love was so great
we had to meet again?
Perhaps we loved
at another date
and was parted by
some tragic fate?
Perhaps you were a King
and I your humble servant?
For anytime in history
I would be your servant
and not feel worthy of you
But, how would a king and
a servant come together?
Could it be that
our love had to be
so that history
could be fulfilled?
So the birds could sing
their beautiful melodies?
So the clouds could form
images of wonderful things?
Could it be that
if we had not once loved
the sea would be dry
and people in love
would no longer try?
Could it be that
our love WAS and is NOW
so rare
that people stop and stare
and wish for
what we have?
If we did love
at a different time
Could it be that
in the future
we will meet again
and you will
still be mine?
