Where Does It Lead?

Theres this path that I follow, it leads to your door,
Its run down and dirty, but Ive walked it before,
It leaves me degraded, bedraggled and lost,
But still I stumble down it, prepared to pay the cost.
Theres this road that I walk down, it leads me to you,
Its deserted and twisting, but I have to make do,
It makes me feel hollow, and empty inside,
But at least the road is clear; theres nowhere left to hide.
Theres this tube that Im riding, it leads to your street,
Its hot and its sticky, and standing hurts my feet,
It leaves me so tired, and gasping for air,
But Im thinking of my destination, and the fact that you wait there.
Theres these stairs that Im climbing; they lead to your bed,
Theyre old and theyre squeaky, so softly I tread,
The day has been hard, as has my journey home,
But as I climb in beside you, Im glad Im not alone.
