The sounds of savagry

Contributed by Immortal-Dragon21 on Thursday, 20th July 2006 @ 11:46:43 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Somewhere in the darkness
An animal is feeding
The choking & gargling
Cries of its victim fill my ears

Blessed art thou who
Resist temptation
For I know I can not

And as its life drains dry
The sounds of savagry dull
And the scared eyes of the victim
Fall dark

The beast rears its head
And in its depraved glare
My soul finds refuge
From all its Atrocities commited

But now the feind is
Tired of its obedience
And its immoral gaze holds
Only a corrupt & savage malice

In the darkness I am alone
And i am afraid, Afraid of surcomming
To the creature that holds me bound
And its sounds of savagry

welcome to YPDC. good first post. careful with spelling because you can't fix it easy here. i like the way you describe emotion here like a savage beast inside us. sometimes our own emotions can be pretty ugly.

I liked your other poem so much, I decided to check you out. Glad I did. Although this piece causes me fear (maybe because I understand a little about the beast), it truly is a great read. I look forward to seeing more of your work. Thank you for sharing.
Peace, Laura
