Scar Tissue That I Wish You Saw

Contributed by hedinthaclouds on Monday, 24th July 2006 @ 01:05:57 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

This tunnel is never ending
I can't find a meaning
My back I'm forever bending
All those words were demeaning
Drowning myself in sorrow
Always wishing for the best
Maybe another tomorrow
I'll feel this pain a little less
It's hard to say goodbye to something you feel that you've just met
It's hard to wipe my face when the tears are still strong yet
I've replaced happiness with waiting
I've replaced pride with shame
I've replaced certainty with debating
I've traded security for pain
I was fine before I met you
What you did to me I don't know
I wish I could forget you
Wish I could let you go
I'll travel down this road alone
Into midnight's black
In your eyes I found my home
But you have turned your back
I've never regretted anything
It's all a time I cherish
Thank you, babe, for everything
Now watch helplessly as I perish
My one last wish
My soul will leave
Your initials on my wrist
My heart on my sleave
People say hold on
Love will go and come
But I can't stay strong
My heart is already becoming undone
The bloody marks on my arms will dry
My soul can finally rest
And tonight, I will not cry
'Cuz I know in my heart that I've had the best

Touching. You may never find a love like that again but if you let your scar tissue seal your heart then you definately won't. You don't have to go searching for love but make every day a new adventure. You don't have to force yourself to love again but you have to force yourself to live. Only in life are we guranteed a chance to live, you've only got one, don't miss it thinking of yesterday or hoping for tomorrow. That was then, this is now, the moment is never the same twice.

Well written, but so sad.
