An illusion
runs naked through my head
leaving the will to sustain this feeling
half alive and almost dead
His voice is but a whisper
when he speaks these lies to me
"I know you know deep down inside
that you were never meant for me."
A fingertip upon my skin
A touch I cannot bear
His eyes are burning in my soul
my screams he cannot hear
It's a bit ironic we say to ourselves
as a way to ease the pain
but deep inside I know the truth
and it's driving me insane
These silent temptations
have left me hung over
with a permanent sense of loss
that I'll never get over
