The light from street lamps glistens softly oer
the snow as I walk finding my rooms stay.
Apartment buildings line the street once more,
dark shapes along a lonesome street called Stray.
For many weeks all I have known is wine
since she first gave to me her bitter note.
All lifes lost reason, great God, Im not fine,
and changing address wont erase words wrote.
Drink, take from me this pain that slices deep
a never ending ache that I endure.
Cloud my sick mind this passing night and keep
her face away and anger so impure.
Love holds a danger like a thorny rose,
such beauty gained, such painful sores dispose.

We tend to numb our feelings with drinking only to have our sadness surface again when we sober. May you find a special person who shall fill ur heart with all the love that u desire real soon.

| Wow you have an interesting writting style, I like it. Reminds me more of a touch of an old english to it. Nice words choice, and the feeling is exposed, and although simple rhyme scheme it does help the poem flow. I've been through many tough relationships, and yeah love can leave such painful sores. I am going to go look at some of your other stuff in a bit. |
