Our Leaders Are Liars

Contributed by Steeleyes on Tuesday, 11th February 2003 @ 05:00:00 AM in AEST
Topic: AmericanTragedy

Our leaders are liars
You probably know
It's all just a pretence
It's all just for show

They hide behind words
They don't mean what they say
Hiding their thoughts
In a cruel shadow play

They look for power
In any brutal way
To spread their influence
They work night and day

Our leaders are liars
They think we are fools
Hypocrisy's their watchword
They've sold their sad souls

A death means nothing
To their cold hearts
Cold steel is their friend
To rip lives apart

To them it's the same
If you're friend or foe
They tell lies to all
Not caring who they snow

Our leaders are liars
Each and every one
They use slimy methods
To get the deed done

He say's he's a Christian
He says he's good and true
But in truth he's just a liar
His principles are few

How CAN a Christian talk
Of the need for war
Where is 'Thou shalt not kill'?
It's not what HE stands for

He acts so very holy
But I know you can see
It's all just a pretence
Sheer hypocrisy

Our leaders are liars
We must let them know
We see through their games
We want them to go

No reeking contracts
With oil men who stink
No devil's bargain
With blood as the ink

No ugly Amerikan
Ruling the whole world
No scythe to sweep down
On each boy and girl

Our leaders are liars
And think only of self
Pathetic politicians
Who seek only wealth

End their sad story
And bring them to earth
Leave them in power
Leaves us walking to death

Change is not something
They are able to do
We must now remove them
It's now up to YOU

I agree, politicians are villains. I also agree that it is up to us, the people, to change that.

Thanks spooky, I can understand the Americans being in a rage about Sep 11 but that still wont justify blowing men women and children to a bloody pulp because of it. war doesn't bring peace. These are the methods used by redundant minds. The world simply has to move on from these deadly dinosaur minds...

I totally agree with you especially about the Christian part however I dont think its up to us to judge who is and who is not a Christian. Great poem my parents should read this. I wish I had the guts to write something like this...
