I'll Take It Like A Man

Contributed by kaitee on Thursday, 3rd August 2006 @ 05:31:46 PM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

An endless search leading to somewhere dark
A journey of the heart, no flame to spark
Down this hole of repitition and sorrow
Hoping to find a better tomorrow
Looks like I'm back right where I started
A glimpse of hope has long been departed
Seeing in my mind exactly what I want
Yet blinded by this space who chose me to haunt
I look up and wonder how I got this far down
I look up and wonder why there' s no one around
He's got hold of my thoughts, he's not letting go
Keeping his grip, keeping me below
Day after day, sinking deeper each time
I never knew living could be such a crime
Longing to hide, sitting in shame
I can't believe this is who I became
A person without eyes or a mind of his own
I'll spend the rest of my days lost, confused, and alone
Don't try to help, for that opportunity is passed
Before stepping in, I guess I should've asked
But the moment I set foot, it sucked me in too fast
I lost my grip, I lost my past
The present and future are still at hand
But not looking forward to the hardcore demands
This place requires much more than I can offer
My tough bred skin continues to get softer
From every circle down this staircase of hate
My life will all too soon degrate
But there's no way out, I guess this'll be my plan
Give me your best shot, I'll take it like a man

Sweet write, inspired me loads and made me think about some things...

So, I take it the pressure is getting too extreme? Yeah, stepping up and taking it like a man is really best I'd say. Makes you feel good after-wards!

Keep it up!
