So, say you, "It is nothing." What is this "nothing" you speak of? Again a cold reply As always. Denying your pain with a shrug. Turn, walk away, alone. The metal blade hidden Beneath your sleave. It is there, though you want no one to know. You never want anyone to know.
This recent change (You were never this way before.) How can I but Blame myself? Once a kitten: So innocent, sweet and pure. You were wary of such wolves, Resisted the influences, Yet they were forced upon you. Beneath your timid frame There hid a heart. That is all I sought, To bring you out To shine. I meant no harm.
But now you have hardened to the world. Forever troubled, Never present. Mind always elsewhere: Eyes empty, expression reveals nothing. You hide behind this veil, Continue your charade Of life. But I know. I know.
I have been there - This abyss. Drawing in all around it, Draining the joy from all. Do not accept this for yourself. I have prevailed. I could lead you past All of this. If only you would Reveal your soul to me.
Please. Respond. What is it you feel? Were I upon a beach, Each grain of sand is a possibility. Though I may ###ume, I cannot find the answer Without you.
Just tell me. It can be better. You know that I care!
Preoccupied, fidgeting, avoiding all society. I come to you, question you, Try to gain some insight, To relieve you from your thoughts. Sit by your side, And ask.
Finally you glance towards. Could it be the revelation? Your lips part. I dare not watch, waiting Breathless.
It passes. All is lost. Forget it. I barely hear your voice Through my own pain In losing you Again.
So again You turn. The cold sharp edge in your palm. You cannot imagine The frustration I feel. Oh why? Why will you not help me To help yourself?
Never mind. It is nothing.
