i trace your shadow with my finger
i watch it fade
into the light that lingers
all i have is the echo of the past
the tracings of a love before
that was destined not to last
each day you move so far away
i try to cling on
just for one more day
but with each breath i take
loves sweet air
from my heart escapes
never your face i will forget
each waking moment
without regret
just dried tears for life before
for the love i lost
person i adore
so through this door
first step i take
through blinding light
i make my escape
and like a coward
so fast i run
away form a life
before it begun
i wish we could at last be free
but i realise
for now
your freedom is without me
