Behind Closed Gates

I can't believe I was so stupid
I believed
I trusted
I cared so much
The worst thing I could ever do
was to let you in

I unlocked the gates to my heart
I let you in but what I didn't know
was that you carried a knife
In the end
I was stabbed

Now your gone
The gates to my heart locked
and the key buried where no one
will ever find it

My wounded heart
still bleeding
is behind closed gates
never to be opened again
