My Daddy's Bible

Did you know dad, that you made me cry,
When you gave me your bible,
I didn't know you picked me,
I am the youngest,
It meant alot to me to have it,
I can open it up right now,
And see all the marks you made in it,
I can see your hand print on the cover,
While you were carrying it.
I remember when you didn't want to read it,
You didn't have anything to do with it,
And then God came into your life and said,
You were His,
And you believed Him.
I remember sitting next to you at church,
Your very first time going,
How I bowed my head and prayed that God wouldn't let you get up and leave.
I was afraid you were going to and it would embarrase me.
I prayed the whole hour of church,
Then you got up,
Went forward,
I thought you got up to leave,
But you were down front on your knees.
Giving your heart to Jesus,
How many times after that,
Did I count on all the things God came involved with,
To change our family,
No more abuse.
I remember you liked me singing,
JUST ALITTLE TALK WITH JESUS,
It is still your favorite song.
Now, I get down on my knee,
With your bible in my hands,
And I sing that song to JESUS,
Hoping He will understand,
That I want to keep you with me longer,
That I want to be your little girl sitting on your knee like many times before,
I know Jesus hears me,
He also knows that I want His will to be done in this situation,
I just have to give it to Him.
Thanks for giving me your bible,
Means alot to me Daddy, I love you.

thank you so much for that...I am going through a tough time right now with my wife and in-laws. I dont pray as much as I should and I know that I need to start because I dont want to lose her in the end. Thank you so much again. Very very good write.
