Excavation

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Time and circumstance can bring a temporary burial
To all the dreams our heart harbors
To the wishes once deeply felt
But it can never hide the remains
That which was not tossed aside as mere rubbish
Through memories and desires my mind digs
In discovery of places long ignored
To confiscate artifacts of a bygone era
Longing to displayed and to have the debris brushed off
And be treasured again
Oh, to hope again!
Despite eras and events
Those relics have not been forgotten
Some things are better left unsaid
Buried will this remain.

Dearest Emily,

It is fabulous to see your work posted on here again. I have missed it a lot.

It's easy to think I know what's going on with this, but as I found out, there is more to it than meets the eye.

I like how this almost rushes, how each line seems eager to lead on to the next. The poem works well and really flows.

Now... we just gotta get some more reads up, people are missing out.

Good write hun,

Love,
Phyllis xxx
