Military Wife

Contributed by Formerly_known on Sunday, 20th August 2006 @ 05:08:46 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

I sit here waiting day in and day out for a phone call
Never knowing if hes okay or what hes doing
I go two to three weeks at a time with a call
Just to be woke in the middle of the night for a ten minute call

I knew when I married him it would be this way,
But I never expected it to be like this
Never thought I would hear of his friends dying in the battle field
Never thought it would worry me so much

I want to believe he's coming home, and I do believe he is
But its hard not to think of what could happen?
What if he dont make it home? What if something does happen to him?
How will I ever deal with the pain of something like that

I want his son to grow up with his daddy
I dont want his son to be like him and never get to know his dad
Its hard being a Military Wife.. But never have I once let anyone tell me
my husband is fighting for nothing..

Hes fighting for My son Hes fighting for me
He's fighting for his honor and he puts his life the only thing he has to offer on the line
But i still wonder why are we still over there its been 5 long years... why?

For all you wives out there never let anyone tell you that your in a marriage alone cause your not ... when it comes down to it Military Wives are some of the Strongest Women you will ever meet. To be able to sit back and raise a child on your own knowing your husband is out fighting a war and still be able to live life to its fullest waiting for him to come home makes you more of a woman..

You, along with all the other military wives out there are to be commended for your bravery as well as your spouses bravery. I am retired Viet Nam era vetereran and am willing to do what I can (being disabled) to support you and all the many other wives. God's blessings to you. Thank you for sharing this. wrdz
