Heaven Sent...

Contributed by lillyjane on Monday, 21st August 2006 @ 05:21:13 AM in AEST
Topic: Nostalgic

Oh baby of mine, what did I do,
before the lord gave me you,
my little bundle of perfection,
who looks to me for protection,

my whole world revolves round you,
I watch in awe at all you do,
your first tooth, your first smile,
it will last such a short while,

one day this moment will be past,
if only I could make it last,
pure innocence, shines from your eyes,
so sad the world will make you wise,

your little fingers curl around mine,
you smile at me, all the time,
I blow a raspberry on your tummy,
you laugh with glee, at your mummy,

I love the smell of your beautiful skin
baby powder and Lanolin,
Your become the child then the man,
I must enjoy you while I can,

Aww, sweet and maternal, reminds me so much of the pleasures of my kids as babies. I only realised how precious the moments were when they grew out of them. Very nicely composed.

Beautiful. Although my girls aren't babies anymore, their little faces still look the same and they'll always be my babies! I loved this poem Lilyjane, it reminded me of all the baby smells and precious moments. The smell of baby powder and lanolin has now been replaced by nail varnish, chanel no5 and charlie!

A very sweet and loving reminder of the wonder
and joy a baby brings. Beautifully said, lillyjane.
you are right .. they are not babies for long ..

This was so tender, intimately pure and full of devotion for your child. I have a line in one of my poems called "C The Message" that I was reminded of by your intro to this wonderful and beautifully written piece of "precious":

"cruel caregivers calling children crying crybabies"

Not Lillyjane! She knows better.

This is a great reminder of how they are when they are a bundle of joy. Please cherish them as long as you can. Lilly Jane you write with such love and compassion which shows the beauty within your soul.
