A beautifully calm face
With eyes eternally closed
The stare of a broken man
His eyes glazed
With sorrow and grief
For she lay
Surrounded by earth
Elegantly dressed in darkness
And cradled in velvet
His greatest gain
Yet his greatest loss
The love of his life
And the pain in his grief
Being lowered into the womb
From which we are delivered
Yet before she disappeared
Forever taken from him
He touched her skin of ice
With his lips of life
Wishing she was breathing
Not believing she was gone
Thus he was forced
To watch her be lowered into the womb
From which we all come
Forever lost to his touch
