Give back that fire they crave to destroy. Hidden in the night air, In a place surrounded with confusion. Promise not to misuse the powers, this time. Conforming is the ultimate sacrifice. Fitting in is redundant, the circumference to broad. Claiming ownership of yesterdays desire. Placing weight on tomorrows ifs. Fighting a lack of motivation reminds me, Of the future. Shut the inner beast out from the day light. Place a welcome mat at the door step of hope. Silence is commanded by guilt, Rage is the latest resentment. Used only for evil in cases of randomness. Bring it back, back to when it was decent. Those ambers that glow under decades of ash. Those remnants of cultivation, Winds of anxious freedom will stir their core. Creating a fire to burn once more.

I got to pondering your title after having read this. I've always thought that it is not a lack of passion, but rather a temporary ignoring of it. It lingers, always, I'd say - if only because we are so fully human. It comes with the package, so to speak.
I'm inclined to think we'd agree on the matter, based on what you've shared here. Your conclusion is hopeful... as life is, truly, when allowed to be. Here's to the dusting off of decades of ash and the possibility that the fire will rage once more! There is, yes - always hope.
