I walk the cold night alone and afraid.

I walk the cold night alone and afraid.

In the middle of the night on the coldest night of the year I found a fire that saved me from the bitter cold.

I sat as close to it as I could and warmed myself from head to toe from heart to soul.

As I warmed myself it seemed to grow stronger too. The fire embraced me.

The fire and I became one with each other. But the heat and light blinded me.

I didnt care because I felt as if I had never been warm before and I reveled in it!

But then the fire pulled away from me. It needed me no more.

I reached for the flame that had warmed me before, the flame that had saved me from the darkness and cold.

And it reached back to me. Only this time it burned. It was no longer the caring warmth that saved me.

It was just a fire. A fire that will burn anything it can, a fire that has no heart or soul.

I walk the cold night alone and afraid

There is a great concept here. The ending was the best.
