Across the wide open world
There's millions of fish in the sea
You've waded through muddy rivers
And you've crashed down raging rapids
With rod, reel and hook in hand
And patience turned to high
You set out alone one day
To hook a fisherman's dream
You were strong and you were determined
A trait not all fishermen have
On one fine sunny day
Your dream crossed your path
'Twas a wild, fun and exuberant day
Alas my dear, you hooked me...
Within your strong and welcoming hands
You held me high for all to see
But what you never knew
And what you many never know
Is that the dream you set out to seek
Was the dream I called my own
And from this mantle I now sit upon
I watch you with such awe
The strength in bonds you've built within
The beauty in your soul
The perserverance you show each day
The radiance in your smile
It's been a wild, fun and breathtaking ride
Since the day my dear, you hooked me...
