THE ROAD NOT SEEN

Contributed by sandypoet on Thursday, 31st August 2006 @ 02:17:20 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

I traveled down this long dusty highway,
A road that has taken me to a place I don't want to be,
I plan I made ahead of time,
I thought it was ok for me.

Now, I look behind me,
Miles of interstate,
Times I thought I did right,
Times I did not wait.

I moved along the highway,
But now I see on my mind,
Fog that was there,
But I didn't know at the time.

I made wrong decisions,
That brought me to this place,
I asked the Lord to protect me,
Help me, move me from this place.

I didn't see the road before me,
It was invisiable to me,
I could not see it in front,
My eyes were to blind to see.

I questioned His destination,
I pondered why and when,
I got mad at the Lord above,
I didn't think He was my friend.

I walked on rocks that hurt me,
I stumbled and failed,
I bruise the insides,
Now I can tell.

But now my eyes are wide opened,
I see the road in front of me,
He layed it down long time ago,
He layed it down when He heard my plea.

He heard me when I said,
Lord, I don't understand,
He heard me when I said,
Lord, this has gotten out of hand,
He heard me when I said,
Lord, let me die,
But then He said, But I didn't hear it,
It will just take some time.

The invisiable road was layed down,
But now my eyes do see,
Now I see that the LORD was there,
All the time helping me.

Now I see the road in front of me,
I am no longer blind,
He was really there,
Every day, Every night,
Each time.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
