Just got paid half blown another hangover a phone screaming - another nag things to ignore up before I went to bed wondering if this is it the child I was would shake his head an empty house mid-twenties still living like I was eighteen living pay by pay drink by drink friend by friend phone call after phone call knowing that one day itll all end with nothing left for me when everyone moves on after my shout - just another drink to forget the time when Im alone wanting what I lack now but one day cant ignore.

Deep stuff here. Sounds like me in my mid-twenties. Keep up the writing and venting. It is good for the soul. Thanks for sharing.
Peace, Laura |

| I think it's funny that when we're in our mid twenties we think times passing us by! Remember, you are still young and doing what you should be doing. Enjoy, there's plenty of time for anything else you might want to do but remember, everyone seeks out pleasures in life, we work harder and longer hours so we can have more fun and pleasure, enjoy it whilst you can and at a time when you don't have to do anything you don't want to! Boy, life without responsibilities and yet you don't know how lucky you are! The grass is always greener etc, well from where I'm standing yours looks pretty green to me! |

| Life without responsibilities... I have a 6yo boy, am a full time uni student and work about 30hrs a week around this to get by. I am a very responsible person, believe me. The point of this poem was more so about the pointlessness of the moment. mid-twenties / still living like I was eighteen. For me, I grew up, feeling that by 26 my life would’ve taken some shape. I guess that’s why I was eager to settle down and start a family. Now however, I’m constantly learning that your cannot plan on a great deal and life will throw you around – all you can do is stay true to what you care about and try not to slip into a world of booze and wasted money. |
