And I know I was every clich
Of a guy who mistreated a girl with too much to lose
But with every bruise, I promise you that it hurt me too
Your perfection changed me
And I know sometimes I acted a little crazy
But, Lauryn, you know I was in love with you
And I agree, this apology is long overdue
I cannot express in writing how much I regret this
To you, the girl who could make me melt with one kiss
If I could go back Id make sure you were treated right
Id make sure I could give you one last kiss tonight
And Ill always remember that night at Howards
Where I held you in my arms for nearly an hour
You looked so beautiful, as you always do
And I felt so lucky to finally be next to you
