Never give up

Contributed by nothingness on Friday, 29th September 2006 @ 01:09:33 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

Seeing only what is there
Never wondering where
Always settling for second best
Never willing to stand and protest
Taking whatever comes your way
Accepting you will never have your day
Agreeing to do what you are told
Never standing up and being bold
That is the way I promised never to be
Because that is the opposite of me
I will be who I am no matter the cost
I will cross any line that needs to be crossed
Standing up for what I think is right
Embracing it will all of my might
Just to stand up for what I believe
Making my point without having to deceive
Finishing the race no matter it what it takes
Winning the game no matter the stakes
That is what my brother told me to do
To tough it out an make it through
My brother told me to run his race
The one he never got to place
He told me to win it for us both
To help him finish his word and oath
I hugged my brother as he faded away
Carrying his words with me every day
I promise to win this never ending game
But not for my pleasure or my own fame
I promise to make it through this game of life
To ease my brothers pain and strife
I will always remember what he told me to do
To never give up and just make it through

Good poem.
"I will be who I am no matter the cost
I will cross any line that needs to be crossed"
Nicely done.
So sorry for the loss.
But he seems to be a great inspiration for your poetry.
