We started out as allies, then friends
A friendship that has now come to its ends
I was your rock, and you were mine
But I obliviously though you were fine

Addictions and habits drove you away
From other friends who wanted you to stay
They brought you here, brought you to me
To this place you no longer want to be...

I held you together when you started to crack
I held you here when the world wanted you back
But now you know you need to heed their call
Even though they're the ones that started this all

I want to be selfish and hold you here
I want to keep you always near
But I know you're strong enough to get through this
I know you'll hit your mark... and not miss...

And yet you just keep coming back "once more"
Saying you don't deserve me, but it's what I'm here for
And everytime you go, you say goodbye
And everytime... I can't help it... I cry...
