I go to work and pay the bills
And do handyman things and such
But when it comes to romance and loving
I'll be the first to admit I'm not much
I usually buy you cards and flowers
On those exceptionally special days
I thought it would make up
For the words I didn't say
I told you that I'd love you
Until the end of time
And that I would let you know
If I ever changed my mind
But that's not what you want to hear
You need and deserve so much more
Life goes on the days go by
Months turn into years
Most are filled with laughter
But some are filled with tears
One thing that will never change
Is the love I have for you
Although I don't often express it
It's honest, pure and true
There are lots of things that matter
Some I can't recall
But having you here beside me
Is what matters most of all.
