Look in My Eyes and You Will Know its True.

There is not such thing as love,
I know that is true,
There is no way love could be more than an idea,
Based of the way one looks,
There is no such thing as love,
Like the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny,
Just an imaged idea of a fleeting happiness,
There is notsuch thing as love,
Of this I am sure,
It is nothing more than a feeling,
A bad, misleading, poor feeling,
That comes from deep within a weak heart,
There is no such thing as love,
I have never seen it nor feel it given,
I have always been told that I do not deserve it,
But thats fine because who wants to believe a lie?
There is no such thing as love,
I know that it has never been real for them,
Its me,
I cant be loved,
Its them and they are all jerks,
No! there is just no such thing as love..
Of this I am sure,
When they said they loved me,
If I did not give up my body,
They all walked away,
They hurt me, used me, lied to me, and cursed me,
So if that is love than I never want anything to do with it,
There is no such thing as love,
For what I say is true,
This word love has only been pain and suffering,
This word love has been empty and full of anguish,
It was always fake and destroying my heart.

I once thought I loved a man,
I once thought I loved a bother,
I once thought I loved a father,
I once thought I loved a mother,
I once thought I loved a sister,
I once thought I loved a friend,
And I once thought that they loved me,
Then they all turned away,
Left me for dead,
And said I was worthless,
They pushed me,
Beat me,
And laughed as I bled,
They raped me,
And told me I was ugly,
When all I have ever needed was someone to hold me,
To stroke my hair and smile at me,
To hug me tightly and hold me through the night
Thats all I wanted and needed from this word love,
And I have been so deprived of such,
Yesterday he walked into my life,
I believed for the very last time,
He started to give me all I needed,
My heart began to heal,
Then he glared at me,
Spoke with contempt,
And walked away.
I no longer believe that love exists,
Yes there is no such thing as love,
Just look in my eyes and you will see its true.

This poem radiates tales of pain and suffering. It seems to me that there are increasingly more and more broken families, people, and hearts as the days go by, until many question if there is truly a thing called love existent at all.

Love is a lot like hope in the sense that it seems too far away and unable to be achieved at times, sometimes even a sign of weakness. But keep the hope and the hope in love, for I believe the greatest thing one who has not known love could do is to truly discover it, not just the fleeting, shallow kinds that this poem highlights, and be able to submit their full selves to that deep love, despite all of the lingering pain and memories.

Good write, and soldier on if it applies to you.

what a painful plight..
I feel ya girl.. really, I do-
though remember that love also, as happenstance, comes about when we least expect it-
you ARE worthy of love~
just be patient.. and keep faith, (in that you yourself, keep on loving) and love will come to you.

Great write!

Unending thoughts and prayers to you my friend~

Billy

Powerful Write Ali...
What more could I say?
I don't believe you - I believe in love and believe you are just as deserving. I also believe that you are a wonderful person (from whom I've had the privilege of getting to know)...
Power words...

- Tim

Despite all the evil, ruthless, unkind, unfair things that happen in the world I truly believe that God's love (from all religions) is there for us always. We only need to look and be willing to see and feel it. My father taught me and I believe that when all are gone and life seems full of despair He will be there to sustain and guide us. Your poem was well written and so full of anguish that I felt compelled to write you.

aww! you have been mislead and had many bad experiences it seems, love does exist...it must! once you find a man who believes love is more than sex you will see this too
your poem captures your sadness and lonliness, how much you want love to be true, but you are havign a hard time believing it
very nicely written!
believe in love, that's why there are so many songs about it!
