Art for the Moment
Sketches in the sand,
art, but for a moment,
one glimmering second in history.
A five year olds first masterpiece,
stick figures salute the day.
A question from the heart,
a lifetimes commitment offered
in four simple words
Or simply the tracks left
by the seagulls on their morning visit.
All true works of art,
when viewed by the parent,
the lover , the lover of nature.
Works of art that exist but for
one brief shining moment,
enjoyed only by those
who seize each moment of
each waking hour,
Fully knowing that
in the next moment
The tide can wash away
all traces of their work of art,
leaving just their memory
of one seconds perfection
