Restless Sleep

Tossing , turning while I sleep,
Thoughts in my head,hidden deep,
Come to haunt me in my dreams at night,
I wake with fear and turn on the light,
I look around the room with fear,
In case my demons do appear,
My heart it beats fast in my chest,
My body weak, in need of rest,
I get up to make a calming brew,
To soothe my weary mind its true,
I drink it, and under the covers I creep,
And I try once more to fall asleep,
But once again I toss and turn,
Tears of tiredness in my eyes burn,
My body aches, my mind in limbo,
My legs they thrash about akimbo,
Then exhaustion takes control,
My eyelids droop, my head it rolls,
My body at last admits defeat,
My mind switches off, I fall asleep,
Then all at once there is a din,
As my alarm clock starts to ring,
I arise, still tired and yawning,
I want to sleep but now its morning,
The day it will be so very long,
My get up and go, it has gone,
My eyes squinting in the morning light,
I hope that I can sleep tonight.

Did you write this down during one of these bad nights? Hope they don't happen all that often. Sleep well.
