Cold like ice this saddened heart, Bruised and battered torn apart, Drained of love and all emotion, Deep and dark like any ocean,
Eyes that stare only into space, Of happiness you see no trace, Deep and distant they remain, Cold and distant, full of pain,
Lips so thin and so unsmiling, Once they charmed, were so beguiling, No trace of feeling do they convey, Unkissed , unloved these lips do say,
Hair all lank, once a crowning glory, Now it tells a different story, Unkempt, uncombed, and neglected, Like your heart its been rejected,
Skin once soft and once so bright, Now so dull ,cold, and white, Cheeks that glowed like the stars, Are now beset by hidden scars
A sorrowful picture of sad refrain, Of how love can bring us hurt and pain, When love has gone, a smile has no place, And the sorrow it shows upon your face.

My sweet and dear friend, Sue,
Such pain and sadness line your beautiful face. I wished so much I could wipe away all the troubles that burden your heart my dear friend. One smile from you is worth so much more than a million tears shed. I know you have been through so much, but through it all you have shown an enormous amount of strength and courage. I admire you dearest Sue. You are an amazing and incredible lady. So kind hearted and always so giving. It's time you stopped and put yourself first my dear friend.
Listen With Your Heart...
Memories are a treasure
time cannot take away...
So may you be surrounded
by happy ones today...
May all the love and tenderness
of golden years well spent
Come back today to fill your heart
with beauty and content...
And may you walk down Memory Lane
and meet the one you love
For while you cannot see Him,
He'll be watching from above...
And if you trust your dreaming
your faith will make it true...
He'll come and talk with you...
So for His sake be happy
and show Him that His love
Has proven strong and big enough
to reach down from above...
And you will never walk alone
when Memory's Door swings wide...
For you'll find that your beloved
is always at your side.
...Helen Steiner Rice...
Chin up my dear friend. Sue M *hugs* Sue C tight. Sending you the warmest wishes always~
love, hugs n prayers,
Sue M |

A more powerful self assessment I have yet to see, what can one say other than pain has never been so bluntly told, or the effects that pain has wrought.
Sue it may be a poem a bit on the dark side, but it's one hell of a write, your use of words is exemplary. |

Ah, Sue... yes, there is such truth here - we wear our pain within and upon ourselves. However, I'd ever so gently (and intending not to be contradicting but just to offer an alternative perspective) disagree with the idea that one's beauty is somehow then altered or heavens!, lost when they're hurting. I reject the often employed notion that we must be smiling to be beautiful. I think, frankly, that beauty presents itself in many ways and I, personally, think people are often most beautiful when they feel least so.
When Love has Gone, it shows.... of course. But beauty, I'd suggest, doesn't go with it.
This tugs at me. I think it's beautiful.
*hugs*
