One more kiss

Contributed by jonted on Saturday, 11th November 2006 @ 12:40:52 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Please give me one more kiss before I go,
Long, hot and wet, just to let me know,
That the loving we have will not go away,
And that your arms will be there another day.

Let me run my fingers through your hair,
Just in case you didn't know, I really care,
Your body warm, outdoors so cold,
Thank you for letting my hands be so bold.

The train awaits to take me to work,
The boss says sweat boy, don't shirk,
But you know full well what I'd rather do,
I'd rather stay at home, and make love with you.

I love that last line!! I've pondered this, actually.... how do two people who are madly, passionately in love with each other bear tearing themselves apart, albiet temporarily, for such mundane (gah! necessary, I'm afraid) things like work? It doesn't seem fair that they should have to. yeh, yeh... it's not going to kill them and they can, do, return home to each other again... but... still, you know?

*siiigh* You got me all mushy with this piece. Gotta love that!!!

The romantic in me couldn't help but love this potent experience of loving and parting. Awesome, thank you.
