Under a melancholy moon I walk with my head high To see that diamonds, in their gloom, Do not fall from my eyes. My face is painted in disguise To hide what pain infests My heart's long, lonely, silent cries That never seem to rest.
I long for that which glitters bright, Yet keeps itself unseen; I crave the secrets hidden tight By ropes so vile and green. And since this treasure's always been Victim to vanity, My diamonds decorate the night Of my insanity.
I reach for they whose hearts are claimed - Sweet moons owned by their sun - And although their love I've not gained, My ribbons are undone! The floodgate's open, and the gun Has shot to start my race. And now I'll let red diamonds run To drain love from my face.
These diamonds have transformed through time To rubies - how they glow! And from my body, in its prime, To death they'll sweetly flow.

Thoughts sent to racing while reading this.
I loved how you captured nature within your feeling and persona. It flowed and was written intently and delivered a high impact of emotions.
Incredible!
