Passer By

You are a thunderstorm, tossing the ocean, stirring the salt that stimulates my nave and innocent opinions that I project in the form of writing and tell myself are art.

Thank you for the chaos, I appreciate the pain you cause, it opens new veins that spill innovative music only you could create.

I am a novice. It excites me when you speak and I am in awe of your intensity. Don't question my awareness. Cool in the darkness of your shadow I observe your talent and accept my own inadequacy. I want to write about you. Appropriate as all I think and dream of is the modesty accompanying the relentless beauty that restricts my normally mature demeanour to jealousy.

I wish I knew what you know. I wish you wouldn't make me ask. I wish you didn't exist until I walk into your room, that you'd disappear with the loss of me.

Your presence makes me breakable.

Yet I am too hooked to be strong enough to protect myself from the approaching agony I foresee you inflicting.

I cherish these moments, your undivided attention, your non-judgemental gaze.

I borrow your humour in order to laugh at myself. A beacon spraying shards of jagged light through the dominant sadness that possesses the end.

This is not the end and you are not the first. Are love is not tragic as you could have me if you wanted. You just don't want it.

Your smile is sympathetic and drying my tears is a chivalrous favour you grant me as a gentle passer by.

My heart all though dented lies unbroken, as I never truly knew you.

I too enjoyed this and as my fellow poets here spelunk for jems sometimes I only have to follow the veins the have mined.

Your words here are rich in texture I enjoy the interpay of your elements:

"...I observe your talent and accept my own inadequacy..."

A profoundly honest confession for which I truly hope you have accepted absolution as your own talent is forever developing.

"...Your presence makes me breakable..."

I feel a real heart here beating

"...My heart although dented lies unbroken, as I never truly knew you. "

A wonderful pearl emerges when you schuck open this shell.

Peace
Yang
