Love is Locked Away

Contributed by one-curly-fry on Friday, 17th November 2006 @ 07:02:48 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

That chainsaw displaced another bird
and whole community of small things
just because
the developed lands
turn their fat and greedy backs
and love is locked away
in the hateful case

Another babe grows up
from the warm suburban house
to the cold streets and chemical love
under The Mans nose
who pretends to care for friends
but love is locked away
in that bitter case

She goes on talk shows
gives a story on the modern man
an out-dated, sepia photograph
disguised hate as ambition
too full of ideas to fill the heart
as love is locked away
in that torn case

My brothers and I sit
here on cliffs edge with eagle eyes
a heavy heart, critical brow
troubled by the machine ticking over
- we, the last of the romantics -
because love is locked away
in that damned case.

Not what I expected from the title, but throughly engaging. Great images and the concept of love being locked away is a good one.

This one hits it on the head. As we have talked about, we have similiar ideas on this topic. You just have a wonderful ability to paint the picture with your word choice. Keep up the good work.
