Invisible scars

Contributed by purplestary on Saturday, 18th November 2006 @ 10:17:43 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

The time is now, the setting is the world
The stage is the street below the tallest rooftop

The victim: a girl, whos been tattered and torn
though no physical evidence was ever worn.

Tonight the past and present collide
forming a pool of crimson and tears
Closets are full, as life goes on
leaving her helpless with nowhere to hide.

She screams for the past and all that is lost
as lightning strikes she brings herself back
The louder she was, the less that they heard
but she needs them to know, whatever the cost.

The pills did not work, only numbing the pain
they still did not care, they refuse to listen
Kicking and screaming she cries to her god
seemingly a sign he made the knife glisten

Now, she has seen every shrink
every fake known to man
all the make believe doctors
who pretend to understand.

Statistics will tell you she should not be alive
But god has a plan, and he wont let her die.

for each time she gives up she is opening eyes
She is showing the world, and uncovering lies.

She is the voice of each broken soul
destroyed and ingnored by a ruthless world
she is the proof, we do exist,
the hurt and the shatterd
with pain that is real.

Contently she blinks, and looks to the sky
calm and collected, she is ready to die
how beautifull the world seams from
a rooftop so high.

"One more for the team" she says as she jumps
as the past and the present collide....

wow! Beautiful write. It describes this world so perfect. So dark. But that's how today is anymore. Dark like there won't be another day. But it's those few idiots in this world that make this world what it is. kudos on this. It made me feel for these people. thank you.

Yep-definitely a way to show your pain is real. Good take on the concept of psychological and emotional trauma not being so readily apparrant so that you need to amp up awareness by showing outside hurt. If only that internal distress was visible, maybe the outside acts would be unnecessary.

No one can trully understand the pain of one soul. We can cry out for help only to feel our own echo. This piece as much as it asks for help it is aware that no one listens. It is the desperate cry of many souls who just want to be accepted as....being here. Why doesn't anyone answer? What a damn strange world that we should need each other so much and no one is there? Yet the wisdom that the universe has a plan is in her head so all is not lost...I hope. Given time and knowledge this soul shall grow to such power and wisdom for she already knows her secret. She has purpose of understanding achieved only by her pain of not being heard.
A fantastic piece that touched my inner soul and made me weep.No soul should ever choose leaving when it harbours this much wisdom. This soul is chosen to ease pain. Biggest hugs.
