To the top of the mountain
Where earth meets man
One mile in elevation
You against the land
And it robs your will
Takes your breath away
It's a heart attack drill
A massive delay
It's a race for glory
It's a race for fame
It's heart attack hill
There to give you pain
If you reach the summit
You can see forever
And your heart will plummet
It's quite an endeavor
It's the heart attack run
Up the mountain trail
Many have tried
Many will fail
Pack your courage, your will
Say a prayer when you start
Cause the chances are good
You don't have the heart

| I really like this. It makes me think of a couple of things. One is running in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado! Quite a task...never quite made it...didn't have the heart! It also makes me think about those that go into an endeavor/ commitment, like marriage, or a job...it gets challenging and then they leave! Either way, just my thoughts. Well done! |

| your poem carries a very powerful message. It says alot of things just as the other comments say. I think it is poem that everyone could relate to in some shape or form! |
