A girl stands alone in the night She is ready to loose her fight To tired and lost to go anymore Tired of watching all her tears pour Tired of acting like she is so strong Tired of wearing her mask for so long What could cause this girl so much pain? It all stared when her friend got on that plane He promised her everything would be alright That he would never really leave her sight He would write her letters and call on the phone That she would never have to be alone Though she cried and begged him to stay The next day he hugged her and flew away They kept in contact helping each other through But how bad she needed him, he never knew He called her house to hear her crying He told her to stay strong and keep on trying The next day she waited as a plane came into sight As people got off she knew something wasnt right Tears soaked their battle torn faces They fell into families warm embraces A man came up and handed her a note As she read a lump grew in her throat It was from the government saying sorry for the loss Saying he was dead and here was his cross Crying now she is ready to surrender Because now she has no friend or defender The sunsets and she takes a gun in her hand She pulls the trigger and hopes it goes as planned Sorrow hangs heavy but somewhere two friends stand Smiling down at the world as they are hand in hand
