Inscription of a Stoned Heart

Contributed by Lips on Wednesday, 22nd November 2006 @ 05:44:43 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

A swirling flurry of wind
On a black inked day
A jagged tree, curling branches
Barren of life
'Cept for one solitary raven
Swaying slowly in the wind

I look at the raven
And though our eyes meet
Acknowledged our presence
I never felt more alone
Cold and baron as the snow

People reach out so many times
But here I chose to be
Alone with the lonesome tree
Cemented to this place
I choose to remain under lock and key

A brick once fallen
From a wall so high
For a moment I thought
It might be time to fly
But a petrified heart leaves me here

So I wave to you dear raven
Holding tightly to the branch
And so I write my emotions on stone tablet
Inscription reading plainly
No trespassers allowed today
No trespassers ever allowed to come play

I LOVE THIS SORT OF STUFF!!

The imagery, like the beginning, is so awesome.

"I look at the raven
And though our eyes meet
Acknowledged our presence
I never felt more alone"

"People reach out so many times
But here I chose to be
Alone with the lonesome tree"

"And so I write my emotions on stone tablet
Inscription reading plainly
No trespassers allowed today
No trespassers ever allowed to come play"

It really fits the theme well.... I wish I could know what the cause of pain is but it's definitely heavy..... even if it is or isn't fiction.

Write more with this hard emotion, I;d definitely love it.

^^ good job
