if the world fell dead.

If the world fell dead, if the sky warbled and cried, if time failed to dry her eyes, or saw too little of her smile or of the softness of her heart, and laid down, and gave up, and closed the wooden door to her house, and slept forever, would it change the way we feel inside?
I have seen a young man walk undefeated, and look upon himself with pride, only to grow old and sad with time. I have seen an old man cry, and look upon his hands, and see all the blood and sand and pain that time could not contain, and I have seen that old man smile and laugh as all the memories of love and life flashed before his eyes. I have heard that old man cry for just one day, one moment more before the end.

it seems as if we're all the same.. young and old. and if we were to only open our minds we would be able to laugh about the times we've enjoyed and how we've come so far through it all. wonderfully written!
