Big red shoes, waterbeds
Tangled toes, painted red
Smiling clowns playing dead
Autographed words ripped to shreds
Alligator tooth dangles on a key chain
In a phone booth callin Jane
Dirty food - yields stomach pain
Wet mice crawlin home in soggy rain
Bald head shaved to the skin
Nothing saved for next of kin
Piles of memories stored in cardboard bins
Fish breathing - scales, gills, and fins
Dark hills, romantic bells
Water spills, to douse the fires of hell
Rolling stones- bombshells
Grieving women- legs up in motels
Backwards clock, numbers skewed
Off the wall, seconds come unglued
Blank canvases, awaiting their respectful dues
Empty minds, misconstrued
Uninvited guests finally arrive
Two plus two then multiplied by five
Twenty timid souls do dare strive
To simply beat the night and stay alive
