In an old cabin far away Sat a hopeless old man A small flame watched him from the fireplace
His eyes were light and shaky His vision was almost gone He breathed heavily as he listened to his heart beat
He rocked slowly and gently in his chair The old chair creaked as he watched the red logs waiting for the dim flame to die out

I like the poem.it truly captures the poor old man beside the fireplace, and I can almost see him fall off his rocking chair through the fogged wndow in his little cottage...
great write!
