Sitting down here on the floor, My stomach and my throat is empty, The metallic taste in my mouth, The spinning of the room, And the shrinking of my skull, Pale to the aftermath of what I said.
Adrenaline and booze led me to here, Idealism and stupidity. Romance and a false sense of confidence, How could I be so wrong? I've a thousand things to think of instead, Irony's a *****, As was I to desire. All I wish is to go back.
Snippets of dialogue, Those that felt right and true, Echo around my head. Gesture and feeling, A montage of mistakes, Replay over and over in my mind.
A legacy of regret and shame, All for what? A non-profit agency is telling the truth, A dangerous lady is lust.

Been there, done that, still holding the shattered pieces of my broken heart to prove it! I'll never understand why alcohol makes us think we're invincible... I liked your absence of a rhyme scheme, it helped the piece flow better, and the message is one I think we can all understand!
