Once Again

Topic: SadPoetry

Once again you have come into our lives
only to leave us with hurt and pain
by the choices you have made

you have chosen to be with this guy
that will only lead you to nowhere land
and down the road of self-destruction

you are blinded by this love
these feelings that you have
That you cannot see what you have done

you say you are following your heart
when you need to be following your mind
It can only lead you to self-destruction

On this path you have chosen
Just know that there will always be
A place within my heart as well as my home

For when you decide
to come to your senses
there will always be home

I never stopped love you
Through all this hurt and pain
This I can forgive

Please do not forget the promise I have made
I will always love you
no matter what you say or have done

Once again you have caused us hurt and pain.
But you must believe that we will
always love you

You will always have a place
Within my heart as well as my home
These are the words I leave you with

I pray that God will watch over you
And protect you from harm
I truly wish you well

Once again, you make me proud as a parent. Sometimes this is all you can do & some lessons can only be learned through experience...Though to allow that to happen when we know better has got to be one of the hardest things a parent can do for their child, but sometimes necessary...thank god, you keep your home as open as your heart!

you are a great father.
I'm quite sure if the relationship of hers fails, and we all pray it doesn't, she'll come back into your embrace. Sometimes only through letting go, can we explore new grounds.Give your daughter a chance to see what she feels as "following her heart".
I wish I had a daddy like you. I'm sixteen, and its been 4 years since I last spoke to him.

cheers,
-glass

This piece is as powerful as it gits, pard! Forgiveness by way of that unconditional love doesn't necessarily mean its all peachy, just UNCONDITIONAL. My cowboy hat's off to ya ...
as a poet, as a father, as a partner. As a gift to all yer friends.

you must be in my mind..our grandaughter is making the same mistakes and we love her but not her choices..she thinks she's in love but she's young and immature..very powerful read.
