Here we both are, Dressed up to the nines, Sampling foods, And fine tasting wines, A smile on your face, A gleam in my eye, The clock keeps on ticking, As time passes by, Another year older, And so much more to show, All these things Ive learnt, As Ive watched love grow, The chimes strike out midnight, You lean in for a kiss, For this past year, Ive lived for moments like this, Step out of the club, Into the rain, Spilled red wine, White shirt with a stain, Still you keep grinning, As I pull you near, A taste of cigarettes, Kebab and beer. Happy New Year. Happy New Year.
