Triangular Stone

Topic: dedicatedpoems

Id have traded my dreams for you and this place
Makes me wonder why you want me now, a lifetime away
With a cold wind blowing in, Id peer into your casket home
a world away, in some triangular stone

Youve three sides round. Im different then you remember me
One side knows that and the other is just so blind
And on long walks by memorial parades I could tell you
Text messaging is no communication for the other side through

When I wanted it all and was more then a shell
youd of left me alone like a penny on the ground
Like Lincolns face Id frown at you upside down and picked up
Somebody would of called that good luck

And in front me, I see that old saying so clear,
You dont know what youve got till its gone
But its been scratched soft, graffiti splashed by night muses
And now, You dont know what you want till it chooses

Ive seen a couple streets, a couple paths, a couple in the dark
They walk around this town, like its a cathedral ground waiting for someone to marry them off
And Im just listening, picking up my medicine; Ive never felt so very alone
With what I want, haven had what its chose in some triangular stone
