Voices...

Contributed by MisfitMe on Monday, 1st January 2007 @ 05:10:06 PM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

Alone, I stood in silent silhouette~

Against twilights play in the heavens set

While the resounding crash of breaking waves~

Brought home the lost voices from watery graves...

Filled with the pain bore on a Banshees scream~

Were the voices of nightmares tore out of dead dreams

That within had been trapped the tormented souls~

From the worst broken bodies riddled with holes...

There were some that I heard like madmen to rave~

Many of them frightened, while others were brave

Some so ironic they sounded amused~

Some finally at peace after life by abused...

Voices so distant as to barely be heard~

Ones taken to moaning forsaken by words

Many were the echos of lovers last sighs~

Some telling the secrets of those telling lies...

Acceptance of spoken in wisdom & grace~

By voices too real to not have a face

While together in anger were others collecting~

Pounding the shores as if answers expecting...

And these were but the first of many to follow~

That by dawns early light, again left me hollow

For not one ever heard was that on I waited~

Thus night after night to return, I was fated...

Oh my .. how WONDERFUL!

This is painfully poetic and exceptionally emotive.
Exactly the type of thought provoking and inspiring
writes I do so love to read. Again and again!!

Sad .. anguished .. forlorn, but so beautifully so!

Excellent job.

Kerry, This is an excellent journey into the past. Graveyards tend to be one of the places I like to escape for reflection, the quiet, the solitude....ah and the stories from those wise souls that have passed on. Your slippage into the past life is refreshing. I hear the voices too.
Peace and hugs,
Laura (your hippy sis)

"Many were the echoes of lovers last sighs~

Some telling the secrets of those telling lies..."

I lingered here for awhile and listened a long time...

Well Done

Peace
