The Bulb That Finally Blossomed

It started out as a tiny bulb, with the potential to be bright and tall.
Constant care and attention was given to this thing which was so small.
I watered it before the sun awoke to greet it every day.
I sat by it and dreams of beautiful things kept my excitement at bay.
3 long weeks went by and nothing sprouted from the soil.
I stood confused and feared the bulb may have been spoiled.
I wouldn't dig it up, because I cared for the bulb far too much.
I still dreamed of the pedals that would wilt at a gentle touch.
3 more weeks and it seemed inevetible that it wouldn't grow.
I wept tears of sadness over the bulb, and the ground moved slow.
A simple stem came first, then leaves sprouted out on the sides.
Then the bulb opened and it nearly blinded my eyes.
Weeks of waiting were out the door.
It was all worth it to see my beautifal rose blossom for sure.
