No More Arrogant an Assumption...

Contributed by MisfitMe on Thursday, 4th January 2007 @ 04:46:56 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

No more arrogant an assumption~

than the answerability of another

Although, it is one many make~

without hesitation, I've discovered...

And while the logic is lost on me~

it must be by right of opinion, I suppose

That our social collective will judge~

& on the individual a sentence impose...

Through our own want to be understood~

we can fall prey to manipulating questions

Which seek their own answers & not ours~

so as in turn we become naught but their reflection...

Acceptance is something craved by all~

yet when compromised for, distorts in meaning

Isolation from the herd can hurt~

more so the comparison to sheep demeaning...

So disallow intrusive inquiries~

even those of righteous intent or true concern

Because worth is the risked rejection~

as well as any bridges it may well burn...

Once dictated by disapproval~

life becomes self sacrificing & unfulfilled

Another lost soul for which to pray~

another hour on the couch for which is billed...

So while to no one must you explain yourself~

be they family, friend or lover

Take care that you, yourself don't presume~

the right to ask justification from others...

Each must honor that all have the right~

to be sole creator of their reality

Thus to ourselves alone can we stay true~

whether or not we've come to know who that might be...

In my humbled opinion the fact that we create our own reality (or at the very least our perceptions of reality) it is not a' right' it is a freedom and we are young when it comes to living with freedom and its companion responsibility. The act of sharing is based on the depth of the those companions who bond further in the giving. The piece does chime the bell of assumed entitlements that eventually leaves one embattled and ravaged as many exercise their freedom by ignoring their connections.
Now to me the piece also rings as if it is written by a Manhattan-ite who may measure the day or even the world on a broken heel or how ones hair looks and yet it provokes a response that is perhaps in the form of argument and debate it is heady and thick with intellectualism's that turn the corner of the mind.

And yet it also has the feel of being read off of parchment each time I perused.

Well Done Sister to the Sun.

Peace
AJ

My heart and head collide as the try to intertwine while i start the process of decoding your poetry sometimes. But this one did get easier as i read through it. A true feeling that shouldn't be denied to you through anyone's arrogance or assumption. [evilish grin] ;}

Sometimes whilst just visiting this site I have read the same poem twice and gotten two different meanings. This is one time where I see this poem the same as I did before

Your writting takes me deeper and deeper into the abyss of everything emotionaly possible to feel. An intellectual carthasus if you will. This poem blow's me away. Truly an experience to read your beautiful poetry. A magnificent journey in to the very regions of who you are and what you are about.
